Get ready as the Gulch Goes Galactic during the 6th Annual Helena SeptemberFest, Sept. 11–13, 2026. This free, family-friendly celebration transforms Last Chance Gulch into a weekend packed with competition, entertainment, and community spirit. Enjoy the Soap Box Derby, Derby Car Calcutta, 1K for United Way Donut Run, live music, and giant balloon sculptures.
The weekend begins with the Soap Box Derby Car Show and Calcutta before racers take on Helena’s iconic 6th Avenue hill in gravity-powered derby cars. Visitors can explore larger-than-life balloon displays inspired by this year’s galactic theme while enjoying food, games, music, and activities for all ages.
More than just a festival, Helena SeptemberFest celebrates community collaboration and local pride, bringing together families, businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, and visitors from across Montana.
All proceeds benefit the United Way of the Lewis & Clark Area.
