In the beautiful Blackfoot Valley along the Blackfoot River, the hamlet of Ovando combines the area's rich ranching history with epic fly-fishing, horseback trail rides, camping, hiking and cycling, as well as snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. As the front door of the Bob Marshall Wilderness, Ovando provides a short drive to trails leading into the heart of "The Bob." Situated along the Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail, Ovando has embraced cycling, which helped earn them the 2018 Montana Community of the Year award for Tourism and Recreation. Ovando has it all, including lodging, dining, a fly-fishing/sports shop and a museum.
