This small community is located along the western shore of Flathead Lake on the Flathead Indian Reservation. Located in fertile farmlands, the region is known for its popular—and delicious—Flathead cherries. On the third weekend of July every year, Elmo hosts the Standing Arrow Pow Wow, a celebration of traditional American Indian drumming, dancing, native dress and food.
For a close-up look at a traditional Indian social gathering, attend the Standing Arrow Pow Wow in Elmo. The celebration includes drumming, dancing and traditional dress and food.
