During the heyday of the Hungry Horse Dam project, Martin City was a boomtown, home to rowdy residents, dam workers and some of the heartiest residents in the region. Just a few minutes' drive from Glacier National Park and the nearby Flathead National Forest, the region is ideal for remote, quiet camping with numerous trails into nearby wilderness areas. Time it right and experience one of Martin City's best traditions, the weekend-long Cabin Fever Days and Barstool Ski Races—a family friendly and roaring-good-time community event held annually in February.
