Blending funk, soul, hip-hop, spoken word, and jazz into a sound that’s completely their own, Tank and The Bangas have earned a reputation as one of the most dynamic and creative bands on the scene today. Led by the charismatic Tarriona “Tank” Ball, the group first turned heads after winning NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in 2017, and have since continued to captivate audiences with their boundless energy, sharp lyricism, and joyful experimentation.
Their 2022 album Red Balloon — nominated for Best Progressive R&B Album — showcases the band’s fearless artistry, combining poetic storytelling with irresistible grooves. Whether they’re getting the crowd to dance, laugh, or tear up, every Tank and The Bangas show is a celebration of music in its most vibrant form.
