Description:
Portraits in Clay is a 4-week workshop for adults with or without prior experience working in clay. Through hand-building methods participant will learn to sculpt a 3/4 life size ceramic portrait from a live model. Participants will learn the hollow, hand-built method, facial and head proportions, and how to create unique expression that speaks to you. Discussions surrounding clay types, hand-building methods, and use of clay tools will be explored. There will be demonstrations showing techniques, tips and tricks, and final cold finishes will be discussed. The final goal is to create a likeness to the model with individual flair.
All supplies included. Students that have prior experience working in clay are encouraged to bring their favorite hand-building tools and a turn table.
Classes will be held on Thursdays.
