This grand concert features two powerful and popular works from the repertoire by Beethoven and Mahler, composers who were pivotal in launching new aesthetic courses for music, Beethoven, bridging Classical and Romantic and Mahler, Late-Romantic and 20th century. Pianist Alon Goldstein, a Glacier Symphony audience favorite, returns as soloist in Beethoven’s most dramatic and final concerto. Plus, the symphony will perform Grammy Award winning composer Jessie Montgomery’s thoughtfully compelling Hymn for Everyone composed in 2021.
