Description:
Legendary blues-rock duo Hot Tuna will return to Missoula for a live concert at The Wilma on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Formed in 1969 by guitarist/vocalist Jorma Kaukonen and bassist Jack Casady, Hot Tuna began as a side project of the iconic ‘60s rock band Jefferson Airplane but quickly carved out its own legacy. Over the decades, the band has delivered a masterful blend of psychedelic rock, blues, folk, and electric jams, influencing generations of musicians. Through it all, Rolling Stone has hailed them as a “Psychedelic-Blues Institution,” a testament to their lasting impact on American music.
From their early days as teenage musicians in Washington, D.C., to their groundbreaking role in San Francisco’s psychedelic rock scene—culminating in their 1996 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—Hot Tuna has remained a driving force in the industry. In 2016, the duo was honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Grammys, recognizing over 55 years of shaping and redefining American music.
Fans can expect to hear some of their most beloved songs, including “Water Song,” “Hesitation Blues,” and “99 Year Blues.”
