Description:
The Montana Dragon Boat Festival, held on Flathead Lake, and hosted in past years by Kalispell, Lakeside and Bigfork, is being brought back in 2024 to be held at Polson Fairgrounds on September 7, 2024. This festival will bring paddlers and teams from our local area as well as teams from the pacific northwest region of the US and Canada. Watch 30+ teams race traditional 41-foot Hong Kong-style dragon boats, each holding 20 people.
When there are wildfires, here are a few things to keep in mind: You’re safe. Most wildland fires, when they happen, are in the back country, miles from civilization and any structures. Montana is home to 3,443,038 acres of wilderness, and most fires happen there. If, by chance, a wildland fire gets close to a community, our firefighting experts communicate, evacuate and communicate some more.
