Vampire Weekend released their self titled debut album in 2008. It included the hit singles “A-Punk” and “Oxford Coma” and has since been certified platinum. Their 2010 sophomore effort, Contra, hit #1 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Gold. It also received a Grammy nomination for “Best Alternative Music Album” and it landed #6 on Rolling Stone‘s list of the “30 Best Albums of 2010.”
Again, they were met with widespread critical acclaim when they released 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City. The album reached #1 on the Billboard 200, was certified gold, and won a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Their 2019 release, Father of the Bride was the third consecutive album to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 and garnered another Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Now, they’re preparing to release their next album and tour namesake, Only God Was Above Us, set for release on April 5, 2024, through Columbia Records.
