Beacons & Brews
We’re kicking off the festivities at Gunsight Bar in Columbia Falls on Wednesday, Feb 21 from 6 to 8 pm. We’re turning the yard into a beacon park. Find a beacon, enjoy a can of the Flathead Avalanche x Bias Brewing Cold IPA on us! Bring your own gear or borrow ours.
Name That Tune, Name That Avalanche
We’re bringing back an old classic on Thursday, Feb 22 from 6 to 8 pm at Bias Brewing in Kalispell. This is our twist on trivia. Bring your knowledge of avalanche problems and a mental rolodex of 80s deep cuts.
Workshop Night
On Friday, Feb 23 we’ll meet at The Patio in Whitefish from 6 to 8:30 pm for a deep dive into avalanche topics. Doors at 6 pm for social hour, and at 7 pm sharp, we’ll open with a State of the Snowpack presentation from our forecast team. We are thrilled to welcome our keynote speakers from the US Geological Survey, your favorite avalanche researchers, Erich Peitzsch and Zach Miller! They will do a two-part presentation covering avalanches/climate and the wild world of wet snow avalanches. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Sign up here.
Hot Dog Days
You know the drill! Find a beacon, win a hot dog. We’re expanding to TWO locations on Saturday, Feb 24: Flower Point Chair and Canyon Creek Trailhead, so both our human-powered and motorized friends can practice. Swing by anytime from 10 am to 2 pm.
Ultimate Après
After Hot Dog Days on Saturday, Feb 24, meet us at the Tap House in Whitefish for après. Our Cold IPA will be flowing and so will the good vibes! NEW this year, we are excited to present Backcountry Partner Speed Dating. Starting at 5:30 pm, meet and mingle with potential riding partners. And you won’t want to miss the Big A$$ Raffle at 6:30 pm! We have some kick a$$ prizes including one flight to Schafer Meadows courtesy of Red Eagle Aviation.
