Whitepine Valley, located in Trout Creek, Montana, is host to art, magic and mystery. Steve Michaels has converted half of his photogenic barn into an art gallery with landscape and wildlife photography as well as abstract art called “Expanded Abstract Imagery.” It is open year-round, weather permitting.
He is also the proud owner and designer of “The Shire of Montana,” an overnight guest house that has been published in the NYTimes and televised on HGTV, MTV and the Discovery Channel. It is a one-of-a-kind abode patterned after the book “The Hobbit” by J.R.R. Tolkien. This magical place is open from May 1 to October 1.
To top it off, Mr. Michaels has created a mysterious castle patterned after “Hogwarts,” which is in production and will be placed on the island of his 2-acre pond in 2021.
Art, Hobbits and mystery are all combined to make this a go-to-destination. You can rent The Shire and spend some quality time in this forgotten part of Montana.
