Hello, Gorgeous
Winter Comes to Glacier Country

In the past several months, Glacier Country Tourism has been hard at work promoting Western Montana as a travel destination and keeping busy with multiple projects. Our winter campaign—which included a partnership with Warren Miller Entertainment and multiple print and digital placements in SnoWest, Northwest Travel & Life, Trip Advisor andYellowstone Journal, as well as geo-target markets—has garnered more than 42,000 leads. The premiere of this year’s Warren Miller Entertainment film “Here, There & Everywhere”—featuring various locations in Glacier Country—kicked off its tour in Salt Lake City and was screened in many of our domestic and international key markets.

In other news, our 2017 – 2018 Glacier Country Travel Guide cover has been selected. Five cover options were presented to the board of directors, voted on and selected by popular vote. All cover images were from our 2016 photo shoot and were selected to promote tourism in our region during fall. The Glacier Country Travel Guide will hit stands in March 2017.

Public Relations and Tourism
Sales Update

Glacier Country Tourism’s Public Relations and Communication Manager, Tia Troy, worked on multiple projects to boost tourism in our region. She hosted journalists and media influencers in our area to promote Western Montana as a travel destination, hosted twitter chats, rewrote the travel guide copy and spearheaded media events in Seattle and San Francisco. Each of the media events was attended by journalists and digital influencers, where Glacier Country Tourism was able to share story ideas and showcase Montana to travel writers. In addition, representatives from our three regional CVBs (Kalispell, Missoula and Whitefish) joined at both locations. This past December, Tia decided to leave Glacier Country Tourism for the Wyoming State Office. Her work here over the past seven years has been beyond phenomenal. We are going to miss her terribly and we want to thank her for everything she has done for tourism in Glacier Country.

Meanwhile, our Tourism Sales Manager, Debbie Picard, has been busy promoting Glacier Country to meeting planners and international and domestic group tour operators. Debbie has embarked on the winter trade show season and has attended ConnectPNW (Connect Pacific Northwest) in Seattle and traveled to Las Vegas to attend IMEX (Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events) where she met with both domestic and international tour operators to sell Glacier Country’s tourism product. Information on Debbie’s trade show leads is available on the partner center. She also spearheaded two business-to-business workshops, one in Kalispell and the other in Missoula, which focused on providing our member partners with the tools and best practices for preparing for the Chinese visitor.

Detailed marketing personnel reports are available on the partner center. For more information about our Communication and Tourism Sales departments, email Nicole or Debbie at nicole@glaciermt.com and debbie@glaciermt.com.

Don’t Miss Out on Your Benefits
Summer Landing Page Cooperative Advertising

With winter underway, we’re looking ahead to spring and summer. Since its privatization last July, glaciermt.com has made more advertising opportunities available to our partners. These new advertising opportunities can enhance your business’s visibility on the site. There are over 1.2 million unique visitors a year that utilize glaciermt.com to assist in planning their vacations, and—with the advertising opportunities available—you are now able to take advantage of our site’s traffic to expose your business to travelers. With spring and summer right around the corner, having the opportunity to advertise on the summer landing pages or having premium-position advertising opportunities on Glacier Country Tourism’s main home page offers front-and-center exposure for our busy season. Don’t pass up this new opportunity!

If you would like to learn how you can start advertising with us, email Glacier Country Tourism’s Contract Agent for Media and Partnership Services, Jim McGowan, at gcservices@glaciermt.com.
