Gearing up for the Winter Season
Glacier Country Welcomes the Snow

Glacier Country Tourism has been winding down from the fall season and officially starting our winter season. Our winter campaign—which included a partnership with Warren Miller Entertainment and multiple print and digital placements in SnoWest, Northwest Travel & Life, Trip Advisor and Yellowstone Journal, as well as geo-target markets—has garnered more than 30,000 leads. The premiere of this year’s Warren Miller Entertainment film “Line of Descent”—featuring various locations in Glacier Country—kicked off its tour in Salt Lake City and was screened in many of our domestic and international key markets. For more updates and great information, be sure to join the Glacier Country Tourism partner facebook group.

In other news, our 2018 – 2019 Glacier Country Travel Guide cover has been selected. Six cover options were presented to the board of directors, voted on and and the winning photo by Nicholas Parker was selected by popular vote. All of the image options were selected to promote tourism to our region and showcase the beauty of Western Montana. The Glacier Country Travel Guide will hit stands in March 2018.

Public Relations and
Tourism Sales Update

Glacier Country Tourism’s Public Relations and Earned Media Manager, Lucy Guthrie Beighle, has worked on multiple projects to boost tourism in our region. She has hosted journalists and media influencers in our area including Portia Smith of Obsessed by Portia and Rob and Chris Taylor of 2 Travel Dads to highlight fall and winter in Glacier Country and to promote Western Montana as a travel destination. She is also spearheading a media event in Seattle, which will allow Glacier Country Tourism—and representatives from our regional CVBs—to share story ideas and showcase Montana to travel writers.

Meanwhile, our Tourism Sales Manager, Debbie Picard, has been busy promoting Glacier Country to meeting planners and international and domestic group tour operators. Debbie has embarked on the trade show season recently traveling to Las Vegas to exhibit at IMEX America (Worldwide Exhibition for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events) and Seattle to Connect PNW (Connect Pacific Northwest), where she met with meeting planners to discuss the ease of meeting in Montana for associations, corporate incentive travel, board meetings and retreats. In December she traveled to San Antonio, Texas for NTA (National Tour Association’s Travel Exchange) to meet with domestic and international tour operators to sell Western Montanan’s tourism product. Information on Debbie’s trade show leads can be accessed on the Glacier Country Partner Center.

Detailed marketing personnel reports are available on the Partner Center. For more information about our communication and tourism sales departments, email Lucy or Debbie at lucy@glaciermt.com and debbie@glaciermt.com.
