“Griz football is huge … people live and die for their football around here.” -Princeton Review

This weekend is a special one in Montana. It’s a battle that thousands look forward to each year called…*cue riveting music*…The “Brawl of the Wild!”

And it’s not to be taken lighly around here. You see, this game pits the University of Montana Grizzlies against the Montana State University Bobcats. To some it’s the Griz/Cat game, while other insist it’s the Cat/Griz game. Either way, it’s a fun-filled weekend with lots of Montana-style trash talking, parties, tailgates and reunions. It also means a celebration for one team and possibly the biggest prize of all: bragging rights for the next 12 months.

College football in Montana is huge. HUGE I tell you! It could be because there’s no pro team in our state of less than one million residents or a tribute to Montana’s rough and tumble, hardworking heritage. But maybe it’s simply our love of seeing big farm boys hold their ground and represent their team through the religion of football.

Either way, it’s game time around here. The folks in our building are decked out in their respective team colors, with plenty of goodhearted ribbing going on.

Playing nice...

Game faces!!!
When you've got a bear this cute, yet manly, cheering for you, you have to win.
One of our Bobcats went as far as covering the beloved bear with his hat. This means war.

And who’s side am I on? Well, the papa bear has season tickets to Griz football and makes the drive to Missoula every home game so this girl says GO GRIZ!

Look at these happy Griz fans.

Game on.
